Pavičić Pošip Selekcija 2023

Wine&more | Pavičić Pošip Selekcija
- +
$45.99

The Pavičić brothers have been involved in viticulture and winemaking since they were young as it’s a centuries-old tradition in the family. The picturesque family house and adjacent konoba (wine-cellar) have recently been refurbished to serve as not only a cellar but also a tasting room. Milko and Luka produce the Pavičić wine labels in a partnership and focus on single varietal wines from the autochthonous grape varieties, Bogdanuša, Pošip and Plavac mali. Their winemaking is characterised by low interference in order to ensure as many varietal, natural flavours and aromas as possible.

Pošip Pavičić Selection is made from the best grapes grown in an area called Podhum. This selection of the finest grapes, harvested slightly later than usual, is a wine of remarkable intensity and elegance. With a deeper golden hue, it invites with aromas of ripe apricot, dried fig, and candied citrus peel, laced with hints of acacia honey and a whisper of vanilla. The late harvest adds richness and concentration, giving the wine a lush, almost creamy texture. On the palate, it is fuller-bodied yet balanced, offering layers of baked apple, quince, and a touch of toasted almond. A lively acidity cuts through the richness, keeping the wine vibrant and fresh. There is a subtle minerality, reminiscent of the sun-warmed stones of Dalmatia, that anchors the fruit’s opulence. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of sweet spice and a hint of Mediterranean herbs.
