Vislander Rose 2023

Vislander Rose
- +
$29.99

Wine for life! How are we different? Our wine tells the original story of the difficult times on the island of Vis and the monetary value of Plavac wine exchanged by the islanders for food. An equal respect for history and terroir is what makes us different. The story of Vislander is a story about islanders – the people of Vis and Britain. While the Second World War was raging in the Adriatic, Vis was hiding a secret British air base. In the isolation the people of Vis lacked food, while the British pined for the pleasures of peacetime. That is why grandma Frona and grandfather Jure made an additional alliance with the British. They traded wine for food, a dry military meal for the Plavac. The perfect sandfield terrain and sustained labor made this alliance victorious.

Wine notes

Winery Vislander
Country Croatia
Region Dalmatia
Variety Plavac mali
Category Rosé wines
Bottle size 0.75 L
Alcohol 11 %
Production 1.700
  • Citrus
  • Cranberries
  • Pomegranate
  • Raspberry

Rosé with an intensely red-gold color that calls for a taste. Aromatics pops with the notes of pomegranate flowers, cranberries and raspberries in the background. In the mouth one can taste the playful acidity that gives an interesting balance to the wine, compared to its concentrated taste of the full-blooded southern rose. On the palate one can feel a seductive sweet touch, although the wine is completely dry, and that sweet spot has merged ideally with its character and the velvety tannins of the Vis Plavac. A layered wine to be remembered, it can perfectly fill up and accompany any table, but also provide pleasure by itself in good company.

  • Oily fish
  • Salmon
  • Shrimps
