Pavičić Plavac mali Podhum 2021

Wine&more | Pavičić Plavac mali Podhum
- +
$49.99

The Pavičić brothers have been involved in viticulture and winemaking since they were young as it’s a centuries-old tradition in the family. The picturesque family house and adjacent konoba (wine-cellar) have recently been refurbished to serve as not only a cellar but also a tasting room. Milko and Luka produce the Pavičić wine labels in a partnership and focus on single varietal wines from the autochthonous grape varieties, Bogdanuša, Pošip and Plavac mali. Their winemaking is characterised by low interference in order to ensure as many varietal, natural flavours and aromas as possible.

A Plavac Mali from Hvar’s distinctive Podhum terroir captures the rugged essence of the island. Deep ruby in color, it opens with aromas of ripe dark cherries, sun-dried plums, and wild blackberries, laced with black pepper and earthy undertones. On the palate, it is bold and full-bodied, with firm tannins, supportive acidity, and flavors of dark fruit, licorice, and dried herbs. The soils of Podhum add a unique minerality and a hint of salinity, creating a long, spicy finish that reflects the wild beauty of Hvar.
